This presentation deals with diseases and disorders encountered with dental patients and the role of the dental hygienist in treatment of these patients.  Included are diseases/ disorders of the various body systems: cardiovascular; respiratory; hematopoietic; gastrointestinal, kidney, and liver; endocrine; musculoskeletal; neurologic; skin, joints and connective tissue.  Also discussed are drug and alcohol abuse, the geriatric patient and the pregnant patient.
